Hello everyone, so today we are going to talk about personal letter and i'm doing an exam either, so lets check it out

Definition

Letters in English are called letters. Personal Letter (Personal Letter)

is an informal letter written to an individual. Usually, those involved

are two people who know each other very well. However, let's explore more

regarding the meaning of this personal letter.

Structure of Personal Letter

• Date = Usually this date is written on the top left. This date

indicates when the letter was written.

For example: 12th January 2014

• Address = This section is the place where you write a letter or

the sender's original address. The address is written at the top right.

For example: 35 Senggigi Raya Lombok 75009 East Nusa Tenggara

• Salutation & Name = This section writes greetings and

recipient's name.

For example: My Dear Lovely Siti, Dear..., Dearest..., Sweetheart, Darling, My love, and

etc.

• Introduction = Usually starts with a sentence like

response from the previous letter or it could be the beginning of self-introduction if you

just started correspondence.

• Body (Content of the Letter) = This section is the content or essence of the letter. On the body

Here you tell the entire contents of the letter you want to write.

• Closure = This section serves to close the conversation, which

indicates that the letter is coming to an end.

• Complimentary Close = This part is an expression short cover.

For example: With love, Sincerely yours, and others.

• Signature = This section is under complementary close,you can put your hands or it can be just your initials just.

Linguistics Features:

Sentence structure:

- Accuracy of grammar is important.

- Complete sentences are expected.

- Slang can be used.

- Use the contractions such as I'll, I'm, We'll

- Use personal pronouns such as I, We, You

- Use active voice

Styles :

- Language use may be personal like first and second person pronouns.

- Be warm

- Use the person's name you are writing to

- Varied sentence length.

- Write in a natural, conversational style.

- Let your personality shine through in your writing

And my exam are to give an example of personal letter:

Dear John,

I’m just writing to let you know that I’ve moved house.

As you know, I went for an interview for a job here in London. Well, they gave me the position! It would have been impractical to travel down from Manchester every day, so we’ve found a house here, in a nice part of London called Greenwich.

Our new house isn’t ideal. London prices are crazy, and we were only able to afford a one-bedroom flat. But on the bright side, it’s on the ground floor, it’s got nice big windows, and a lovely view out onto the garden.

If you ever fancy a trip to London, you’re more than welcome to come and stay. It would be great to see you. From where we live, it’s only a quick ride on the underground into the city center, so we could do some sightseeing together.
